Billings Vineyard Church Sunday Sermons

Our Sunday sermon messages at Billings Vineyard Church are given in hopes that the listener will know the Bible more than they did before. In the Vineyard, we see Jesus’ teaching on the kingdom of God as the overarching and integrating theme of the Scriptures. We root our theology in these teachings on the kingdom of God, embracing an ‘inaugurated eschatology’ – where God’s beautiful future is breaking into our present experience.

This week, Adam discusses spiritual warfare. Jesus gives us the best examples of how to respond to the devil when he tempts us. Jesus was tempted in every way that we are, and He was not at all tempted. Jesus knew who God is and the promises that He had made.

Monday Jan 13, 2025

This week, Adam continues through the Luke series in Luke 3: 1-14. He discusses that Jesus came to seek and save all who are lost. God will come to chase us from our slavery, and slavery does not always mean hardships but also being stuck in comfortable places. Jesus teaches us to have freedom in the fire rather than being cozy in everyday life.

Adam Greenwell preaches on The weird week that is in-between Christmas and New Year's. Some refer to it as "Feral Week" as we are stuck between the hope, peace, joy, and love that Advent brings and the new year's resolutions. Adam asks a thought-provoking question; "Who is orchestrating your life going into 2025?" Coming out of Advent and into the new year, how will you answer this question?

Monday Dec 23, 2024

Brad Hudson discusses the importance of love. We aren't geared to receive and love in the way that we are meant to. We get hurt and wounded, but knowing Jesus and God's true meaning and foundation for love, it is something we must practice and learn.

Monday Dec 16, 2024

Monday Dec 09, 2024

Adam discusses how we as humans tend to look for peace in all the wrong places. Money, things, places, and even people aren't the best way to find peace. Seeking Christ is the only way to have true and sound peace. He points out that being comfortable does not mean we are at peace. If anything, comfort is an invitation to God to help us find true peace.

Monday Dec 02, 2024

Adam discusses how Hope must be rooted in Christ rather than wishful thinking. Through Jesus's birth, we have a worthy point of confident expectation.

Tuesday Nov 26, 2024

After reviewing all 10 commandments, Adam addresses the question, "Which One?" that was asked of Jesus when he said the commandments are the way to eternal life. The main point is that the commandments are not simply ways to act but how we are to condition our hearts toward life like Christ. It is not by acts that we enter the kingdom of God.

Monday Nov 18, 2024

Adam discusses the 10th and final commandment: Thou shalt not covet. Adam makes the hard point that to covet is not simply to be jealous but rather to take control of God's creation and live in a fantasy world with another person's relationship or stuff.

Monday Nov 11, 2024

Adam discusses the 9th commandment, "Thou shalt not lie." He explains that if we are apart from God and unaware and untrusting of his plans, we tend to be insecure and unsure of certain things. This leads to an identity issue, where we feel the need to be and say things that are not true.
